Material Notes:

Grey Silicone Rubber, 76-85 °IRHD. Silicone rubber having both methyl and vinyl substituent groups on the polymer chain. ASTM & ISO designation = VMQ.Applications: Excellent heat resistance and low temperature flexibility combined with low compression set performance. Used primarily for dry heat static seals. Low physical strength and poor abrasion resistance prevents dynamic sealing. Although silicone will swell in petroleum lubricants, this is not necessarily detrimental in static sealing applications.
