General DescriptionYtterbium (Yb) Nanoparticles, nanodots or nanopowder are black spherical high surface area particles. Nanoscale Ytterbium Particles are typically 10 - 80 nanometers (nm) with specific surface area (SSA) in the 30 – 60 m 2 /g range. Nano Ytterbium Particles are also available in passivated and Ultra high purity and high purity and coated and dispersed forms. Research into applications for Ytterbium nanocrystals has focused on use for high-power fiber lasers and amplifiers, as a dopant or by direct deposition in glass, laser optics and optical fibers, in phosphors, nanophosphors and doped phosphorous nanoparticles and for their potential magnetic, optical, imaging, biomedical and bioscience properties and for use in coatings, plastics, nanowire, and in alloy and catalyst applications.
