General DescriptionSilicon (Si) Nanotubes, Single-Walled, Double Walled and Multi-Walled are tubular ultra high surface area nanotubes. Nanoscale Silicon Nanotubes are typically 10 - 100 nanometers (nm) with specific surface area (SSA) in the 10 – 75 m 2 /g range. Silicon Nanotubes are also available in coated and dispersed forms. Research into applications for Silicon Nanotubes includes use in luminescent display devises due to silicon's broader excitation spectra in the nanoscale range, as building blocks for single-nanoparticle electronic devices, in micro and integrated semiconductors, in solar energy cells, and in certain alloy applications.
