This alloy is designed primarily for welding ASTM A564 Type 630, 17 percent chromium, 4 percent nickel, and precipitation-hardening stainless steel. The composition is modified to eliminate the present of ferrite stringers in the martensitic micro-structure, which has a damaging effect on mechanical properties.
