Material Notes:
Chemical Name: POLYOXYETHYLENE NONYLPHENYL ETHER, BRANCHED, PHOSPHATECAS: 68412-53-3, 68412-54-4, 7664-38-2, 7732-18-5Available in: Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America and North America Applications: RHODAFAC PE-510 can be used to prepare a broad range of commercial emulsion polymers including acrylics, vinyl-acrylics and styrene-acrylics. Such polymers find application in latex paints, adhesives, paper coatings and textiles. Rhodafac PE-510 is typically converted to its salt form (sodium, ammonium, amine) for use in emulsion polymerization. This is usually done in-situ by neutralization of the diluted phosphate ester with the desired base. Films of polymers made with Rhodafac PE-510 exhibit enhanced corrosion resistance and superior heat and light stability, which makes them especially desirable for metal coating applications. The versatility of Rhodafac PE-510 allows it to be used with a wide range of polymerization techniques, including thermal and redox processes. When properly used in conjunction with other anionic and nonionic surfactants, Rhodafac PE-510 allows for the trouble-free commercial production of extremely stable emulsion polymers.Information provided by Rhodia, Rhodia has been acquired by Solvay.
