Material Notes:
Tychem® 3000/3100D is well suited, but not limited to, dry-cast pavers and blocks, SCC, HPC, pre-cast and down hole cementing. Tychem® 3000/3100D is compatible under the most extreme conditions and maintains its stability with a variety of other common admixtures such as polycarboxylates and naphthalene/lignosulfonates. Tychem® 3000 is a unique aqueous emulsion that is a hydrophobically modified alkali swellable styrene-butadiene copolymer. Its performance features in cementitious mix designs aid in hydration. Its ability to capture water and release it aids in efficient and full hydration without effecting workability, as opposed to surface curing, which is less effective. This phenomenon takes full advantage of the cements ability to create strength and reduces plastic and dry shrinkage; which in turn reduces the stresses that produce cracks. To protect the integrity of the concrete, the internal curing process reduces permeability and efflorescence. Tychem® 3000 has no adverse effects on early strength and increases late strength, see Chart 1 & 2 (based on morter mix in Table 1). It can also increase the water to concrete ratio in both ready-mix/pre-cast and dry-cast/vibrocompaction, which aids the internal curing process. Recommended initial dosing is 3-5 oz./100 wt. Storage and Handling: Protect from freezing. Ideal storage temperature is 22°C (72°F).
