Commonly known as DICYandiamide (DICY), the white crystalline compound is the dimer for cyanamide or for cyanoguanidine. The primary use of the chemical is in the production of melamine, but it is also as a curing agent for epoxy resins. DICY crystals melt at 45° C, and are soluble in water and alcohol.
