Dekorlux includes Dekorflake which is based on natural micas that have been treated and Micaclad which is a range of colored micas.The Dekorflake natural micas are treated to provide metallic bronze, silver, gold and black finishes. They are resistant to most environmental conditions and are chemically and color stable to temperatures in excess of 800°C, Dekorflake products are FDA and food contact compliant.Micaclad colored micas from Progressive Fillers International Inc, USA are produced by addition and binding of pigment to the surface of natural mica. The resultant product offers color fast pigment dispersion on a reinforcing mica particle. The Micaclad range maintains color stability up to 260oC and the majority of color options are FDA and food contact compliant. Applications: The versatility of Dekorflake and Micaclad means that they can be used for many applications including cosmetic packaging, thermoplastic moldings, cementitious products, thermoset resins, surface coatings, building products, ceramics, flooring and film. In construction products such as mortars, renders, reconstituted stonework, bricks and tiles the addition of Dekorflake helps to achieve a natural stone effect at an economical cost.
