Description: Conoco Gear Shield NC is a black, viscous fluid designed to lubricate open gears. Gear Shield NC contains neither chlorinated solvents nor lead compounds. Gear Shield NC is designed to provide open gear lubrication while avoiding the use of environmentally hazardous chlorine compounds that have been used in earlier generation open gear lubricants. Gear Shield NC provides a safe and effective lubricating film to protect and lubricate all open gears operating under the latest gear technology. The lubricant drains freely from gear shrouds. The lubricating film protects the gears under conditions of shock loading, high-power input during startup and for all operating conditions for mill service, including dual pinion drives operating with 40-foot diameter gears.Information provided by ConocoPhillips.
