Material Notes:
FeaturesChevron Aviation Gasolines (Avgas) 100 and 100 Low Lead are manufactured to meet the requirements of ASTM D 910, Standard Specification for Aviation Gasolines. They also may qualify for U.S. military uses, since they ASTM specification is now the basis for acceptance for such uses.Chevron Avgas 100 is available only in Hawaii.ApplicationsChevron Avgas 100 and 100 Low Lead are intended for use in light, personal aircraft, single and twin engined executive aircraft, crop dusters, two- and four-engined transports, and certain military light aircraft which require aviation gasoline.Piston engine aircraft are generally certified for operation on a specific grade of aviation gasoline. The use of a higher grade may be acceptable when the specified grade is not available. However, for engines designed for grade 80, continued use of Grade 100, with its higher lead content, may result in malfunctioning such as spark plug fouling. Engine manufacturer’s recommendations should be followed.Grade 100 Low Lead is approved by most engines manufacturers for use as an alternate fuel in aircraft engines originally designed for operation on Grade 80 when it is unavailable. Engine manufacturer’s recommendations must be strictly adhered to. Check with the airframe or engine manufacturer for details.
