PREADD PA 143 is a PE-LLD based processing aid masterbatch for PE-LLD based films. PREADD PA 143 improves processing in conventional PE-LD extruders and specially designed PE-LD extruders when PE-LLD is being run. PREADD PA 143 also improves the extrusion of PE-HD.The fluoroelastomer additive used in PREADD PA 143 migrates towards metal the surfaces of the extruder enabling the use of narrower die gaps. PREADD PA 143 also reduces wear of the screw and barrel. The pressure in the extruder and the viscosity of the polymer will also be reduced. All this results in increased output as the melt fracture phenomenon appears at higher shear stresses. PREADD PA 143 is approved for use in contact with foodstuffs according to FDA regulations as long as the dosage of PREADD PA 143 is less than 3 %.For quick action PREADD PA 143 should be dosed at 30-50 % for the first half an hour (that way the barrel and screw surfaces will be coated quicker with the fluoroelastomer).Information provided by Premix Thermoplastics Inc.
