Material Notes:
This is a special flame retardant grade consisting of spherical beads of a blend of polystyrene and polyphenylene ether containing pentane as expansion agent, and a internal flame-retardant additive. It is typically used for medium density foam with improved thermal resistance.Applications: This grade is used for medium density foam with wall-thickness generally greater than or equal to 10 mm and with improved thermal resistance. It does not comply with DIN 4102 B2-classificiation. Typical applications include hot-water insulation, pipe-insulation and automotive parts (interior and exterior).Processing of DYTHERM beads on pressurized batch pre-expander is recommended. It can be process on a continuous pre-expander when higher densities are acceptable. This grade should not be used for food contact applications.Information provided by NOVA Chemicals.
