Material Notes:
Fields of application: Masterbatch for improvement of production efficiency and product quality.Examples: PP, HDPE and LLDPE cast and blown films, pipes, tubes, wire and cables, blow molding and general extrusion. Filament- and fiber products such as CF, BCF, POY, FDY and staple fibers.Mode of action and advantages: ADD-MAX® 594 contains a highly effective additive that lowers the apparent viscosity of the polymer melt during processing. It reduces the friction between the polymer melt and internal metal surface of the processing equipment which is helpful to increase the production efficiency. Based on existing experience, ADD-MAX® 594 will not influence the mechanical properties of end-products, e.g. tensile strength, impact and Long Term Hoop Stress (pipe application).Advantages: Reduction or elimination of die build-up and of melt-fracture phenomenon; Potentially higher throughputs can be achieved when capacity is available (10% - 30%). For blow molding: reduction of cycle time; Fiber spinning: A bottleneck caused by polymer friction in the die (critical shear rate phenomenon) will be overcome, allowing higher line speeds and less fiber breakages in the melt phase (cooling zone). Thus, a higher output can be achieved when capacity is available (10% - 30%), especially for fine staple fiber production (e.g. short spin line: 1 – 10 dtex) until maximum speed of the last godet has been achieved; Low(er) melt flow polymers can be spun at similar efficiency now in order to obtain better mechanical properties in the final product (e.g. mechanical properties for geotextile nonwovens); Reduction of die pressure and torque; Lower extrusion temperature, reduction of energy consumption; Reduction in surface defects and improvement of surface properties (gloss and appearance); Improved gauge control, reduced meltorientation, die-swell and melt-pressure; Faster color changes, reduction of waste and less production interruptions; Keeping-clean the metal surfaces of the extruder, die and filters, less “black spots“; and Non-sticking pellets, dust free dosing. Safe and easy handling.Regulations: ADD-MAX® 539 is suitable for food packaging products as the active ingredients are in compliance with current food contact regulation.Information provided by ADDCOMP
